Medical school students deserve a lot of admiration. They have to go through many difficult and tedious years of intense schooling that consists of miles of thick books and exams. To become the future doctors of the world, they must have a high degree of resolve and patience to overcome the worst obstacles. You would think that they get a break every once and awhile but how does the institution pay them back? Kick them out into the real world and remind them that they have to pay their loans back.
When considering the cost of medical school, not very many think about the equipment and resources that are used in the teaching process. Students are more concerned about paying their tuition and doing well in class. They don’t even have to time to think about medical products as apart of their required course material list. But it’s true-- medical school equipment are crucial aspects of a comprehensive medical school education.
Medical school equipment is a rather large umbrella term that can include anything from bandage supplies to an EKG machine or a large-scale MRI scan. They are used in large lectures or small labs to help instruct the students on real-world applications. This is why it is so crucial that these materials be the most up-to-date and technologically relevant devices. Not only does it have excellent quality, it’s closest to the models that would be used in the hospitals and clinics that the would potentially be employed at.
The school typically chooses and provides for the medical school equipment to fit accordingly with a given rubric and agenda. It is ultimately up to them which resources students will get to play around with but in general, the more equipment, the better equipped students will be in the real medical world. One day, with further experience in the field, they will begin to demand the need for new medical school equipment and inspire engineers to create more cutting edge versions.
