Thanksgiving is coming up and I know I have quite a few things for which to be thankful. I have such a great family, a wonderful group of friends, and a job that allows me to keep a beautiful home and support my kids. However, there are several items and people that we somehow forget to thank during this time of year but to which we owe our lives or livelihoods. One obvious standout for me is doctors and the various medical equipment they rely on day in and day out.
I know that I am not a very pleasant person when I am sick so the many nurses and physicians that have to deal with cranky patients and anxious family members must have the patience of saints! It would be an incredibly difficult job and those individuals who work in emergency rooms, saving lives everyday, do not often receive the thanks they deserve. The family members are often so grateful that their loved one is all right that they completely forget about everything else.
That is why I would like to express my thanks right now to the countless doctors, nurses, and medical technicians for all their hard work and skill. We are so lucky to have access to the best physicians and the most advanced medical imaging equipment in the world. I know they are not miracle workers, but they do work magic in the eyes of thousands of family members every day.
Medical equipment is extremely important in a hospital and clinic. These advanced medical machines help doctors diagnose and treat a huge range of diseases. What would we do without electrocardiogram or EKG machines? These important machines help map the strength and rhythm of an individual's heartbeat and can tell physicians whether this individual has a heart defect or has recently had a heart attack.
I hope that you and your family work hard to stay healthy so that you do not need to be rushed to the hospital. It is reassuring to know, however, that if you ever need hospital care, that you will be well taken care of by diligent medical care specialists.
